If you are planning on changing the head gasket on your Skoda Fabia 1.4 MPI (push rod engine) here are some pictures that might help you.

I've never worked on an engine before so I used the Haynes DIY handbook for guidance. I did most of the work myself, but the surface grinding was done by a local shop. With parts and the grinding the total cost was 1/10 of what the Skoda repair shop wanted.

Since I've never done anything like this before I used around six hours to take everything apart. Including jacking up the car, draining the coolant and reading every section in the Haynes book to many times.
The reassemble part took me three hours. If I needed to do it all again, I would probable need less then 5 hours for the entire process. And its all easy work on this engine, just a lot of bolts and nuts.

Swan

I was out walking Chuck, my golden retriever nephew, planning to take some long exposure shots after the sun had set. This swan came up to us hoping that we had brought some food. The long exposure shot will have to wait, my battery ran out and I got cold.

Tried to use a light stand as a tripod. It did not work that well, specially not in the wind.

Its not easy focusing with the d90 using only the screen as reference. Some more practice might help. The somersault, or almost whipout, is near the end of the video.
